Jack Herer

(Alias: Bedrocan) is an indica/sativa variety from Sensi Seeds and can be grown indoors (where the female plants need ±60 days of flowering) (as well as outdoors in the right climates). Sensi Seeds’ Jack Herer is THC dominant and is/was also available as feminized seeds.

But Jack Herer manages to go one step further, and it has now been selected as a recognized medicinal cannabis strain to be sold in Dutch pharmacies on prescription.

The champagne of Sensi’s strains is named in honor of Jack Herer, author of ‘The Emperor wears no Clothes’. His tireless dedication and his milestone book have helped ensure that Jack Herer gets most of the credit when it comes to reminding the world that cannabis in all its forms has always been one of humanity’s most valuable resources, and that we can indeed save the world with cannabis!

The exquisite blend of tropical sativa high and monstrous indica resin production that comes together in Jack Herer has to be seen and tried to be believed. At peak, the buds are so covered in prominent resin glands that they look glazed, or covered in shiny dew drops. The coating of crystals extends over the spear leaves, into the fan leaves, and even onto Jack Herer’s main stem and stem.

Plants from seed exhibit beautiful variety, thanks to Jack Herer’s complex background and the fine balance right at the apex of sativa and indica. Enhanced characteristics from both sides of the family are very much present, and expressed in different combinations, allowing every grower to select mother plants that suit their needs exactly. Three of Jack’s four main phenotypes are heavily influenced by sativa, while the fourth has a growth habit that is more reminiscent of indica: fast-growing and relatively compact, with a dense, expansive and rounded structure in the buds, making it quite suitable for yielding.

Jack’s sativa phenotypes can also produce great yields per meter or per plant if you do the cultivation right. However, it is very rare for such fruits to reach the commercial market. Most growers who have seen Jack’s succulent, super-large calyxes swell and ripen will be hesitant to sell these buds, and so the best of Jack Herer is usually only shared within a select circle of friends – one of those things that money can’t buy.

The hallmark of all Jack Herer phenotypes is the dual potency – a stratospheric brain high, underpinned by a breath-taking body buzz in the style of an earthquake. Smokers can expect to feel the earth shaking beneath their feet, which can be quite pleasant when you’re floating with your head high in the clouds.
